About

CABAL is a 20-something IT worker who lives on the internet, where he wastes his free time with things like videogames, movies, and comics. He likes to think of himself as creative, but none of his projects make it far, many never got past concept. This corner of the web is where he displays these unfinished works and speaks his mind about whatever topic happens to be in there at the time.

Making the Band

08 06 09 - 10:20 Its been awhile since my last post, but I've been busy. My friends' band Pressure Blind is starting to move forward so I've been busy helping them design a logo, make a website, taking photos, making flyers, and the like. The website is nearly done and I hope to get it live within a week, which gives it plenty of lead time before there first show in July. I've also revived my music project now that I have the software I needed, but I can't seem to find any inspiration or the groove I had earlier this year. I'll start a song and usually scrap it completely withing an hour, leaving me quite unfulfilled. Maybe after I get the Pressure Blind site live I'll be able to focus better. Used tags: ,

In regards to writing, you just have to bite the bullet and stick it out. Just because you have something you don’t consider good doesn’t mean it won’t lead to something later. Once the mind gets rolling, its much easier to write. you can’t just expect to come up with a masterpiece in the first hour. You have to start with a very basic idea and build on top of it layer by layer. Its a very weird process but you can do it! Try this: record several ideas as starting points then forget about them completely. Come back a week or two later and you’ll be amazed at how fresh they sound, and inspiration might strike. At least you’ll have something to work with for the future!

You reading stuff or what?

Actually, I hadn’t noticed the comments since the newest post still has none and I’m so used to no one commenting except spam bots.

I probably need to make another actual post, but the music stuff been sidelined, since I’m trying to “fix” Dark Light currently.
